Fall 40 Days for Life Campaign is: September 28th thru November 6th
Dear Friends of Life,
I know this is late getting to you all, so I will explain why the delay. We have been praying and discerning what direction we should take for our fall 40 Days for Life Campaign. At this time, Praise God, there are no abortions being done at either EMW or Planned Parenthood. After speaking with 40 Days for Life, we do have an option to not have a fall campaign.
With the upcoming election and the states that still legalize abortion, we recognize that this 40 Days Campaign is important. There is an immediate and ongoing need for prayer and fasting. You all have been faithful prayer warriors throughout these years. That is what led us to decide on an alternative program for this 40 Days.
We are asking Churches to take a 12-hour day (1 Day) during the campaign to pray and fast for an end to abortion and to protect all Life, to pray for our elections, to pray for the safety of all of those who stand and witness for Life and our Pregnancy Centers and Staff. Each Church would still take a specific day that we can put on the calendar for all to know and possibly come to that location for prayer. If your Church can take ½ Day, that is great too!
This 12-hours of prayer would be at your own Church. For example, if St. Paul takes every Saturday during the campaign, they would schedule people the same as if we were going downtown. We believe that more Churches will come together to pray, and more people will come to Church vs. downtown.
There is still a presence downtown, we have prayer warriors that go to the sidewalk weekly to pray. If you or your Parish feel called to do this that is your choice, just let us know. We will provide signs and resources for those that decide to hold a day of prayer at Church or on the sidewalk.
Please ask your Pastor if this would be possible in your Church or downtown and let us know.
Blessings, Carol, and the 40 Days for Life Team
